35 Scripture Prayers for Your Husband

God has led me to pray scriptures for my husband. For some reason, for the a while, I didn’t feel like it. I just wanted to pray what I wanted to pray for him, what I felt he needed, but God reminded me that there are promises in His Word and truth in His Word for my husband that He wants my husband to receive, so that’s where my intercession should draw from. So I thank Him for leading me in this, and I want to share the scriptures that I found to pray. I pray this is helpful for all those reading. Here is the reference article I used to find these along with some additional scriptures at the end. 


35 Prayers for Your Husband

  1. I ask, Father, that You would bless the work of his hands, in Jesus’ name. 
    • “The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none.” (Deuteronomy 28:12)
  2. I ask, Father, that You would help my husband, with whatever he does, work at it with all his heart as working for You and not man, in Jesus’ name. 
    • “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” (Colossians 3:23)
  3. I ask, Father, that You would help my husband come to You when he is weary and burdened that You may give him rest, that You would help him take Your yoke upon him and learn from You to find rest for his soul, in Jesus’ name.
    • “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)
  4. I ask, Father, that You would give him godly friends who encourage him, in Jesus’ name.
    • “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10a)
  5. I ask, Father, that You would help my husband demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God and take captive his thoughts and make them obedient to Christ, in Jesus’ name. 
    • “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:5)
  6. I ask, Father, that You would help me submit to my husband so that, if he ever does not believe the Word, that he may be won over by my behavior when he sees my purity and reverence of my life, with Your helping me, in Jesus’ name. 
    • “Wives, in the same way submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, when they see the purity and reverence of your lives.” (1 Peter 3:1-2).
  7. I ask, Father, that You would help my husband trust in You with all his heart and lean not on his own understanding, that in all his ways, You help him submit to You that You will make his paths straight.  
    • “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
  8. I ask, Father, if ever my husband’s heart condemns him, that You let my husband know that You are greater than His heart and You know everything. I ask that You help him rest in Your presence, in Jesus’ name. 
    • “This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in His presence: If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and He knows everything.” (1 John 3:19-20)
  9. I ask, Father, that You would direct my husband’s footsteps according to Your Word and let no sin rule over him, in Jesus’ name. 
    • “Direct my footsteps according to Your word; let no sin rule over me.” (Psalm 119:133)
  10. I ask, Father, that You would give my husband a heart to know You, that You are the Lord, in Jesus’ name. 
    • “I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the Lord. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to Me with all their heart.” (Jeremiah 24:7)
  11. I ask, Father, that You help my husband do good, be rich in good deeds, and be generous and willing to share, in Jesus’ name. 
    • “Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.” (1 Timothy 6:18)
  12. I ask, Father, that You would give him a hunger and thirst for righteousness, in Jesus’ name.
    • “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” (Matthew 5:6)
  13. I ask, Father, that You would help him be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry, in Jesus’ name. 
    • “My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.” (James 1:19)
  14. Thank You, Father, that he is Your son, that You sent the Holy Spirit into his heart, in Jesus’ name. 
    • “Because you are His sons, God sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, ‘Abba, Father.’” (Galatians 4:6)
  15. I ask, Father, that You soften my husband’s heart to bow his knees in service and worship to You alone. 
    • “Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.” (Psalm 95:6)
  16. I ask, Father, that the peace of Christ would rule in his heart, in Jesus’ name. 
    • “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” (Colossians 3:15)
  17. I ask, Father, that You would draw my husband to Jesus, in Jesus’ name. 
    • “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day.”(John 6:44)
  18. I ask, Father, that You would command Your angels to protect him, in Jesus’ name.
    • “For He will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.” (Psalm 91:11)
  19. I ask, Father, that You would help him think on things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy, in Jesus’ name.
    • “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”  (Philippians 4:8)
  20. I ask, Father, that You help him to open his mouth with wisdom and have the law of kindness on his tongue, in Jesus’ name.
    • “[He] opens [his] mouth with wisdom, and on [his] tongue is the law of kindness.” (Proverbs 31:26).
  21. I ask, Father, that You would help him use the gifts You have given him to serve others, in Jesus’ name. 
    • “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” (1 Peter 4:10)
  22. I ask, Father, that You would help him guard his heart, in Jesus' name.
    • "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it."  (Proverbs 4:23)
  23. I ask, Father, that You would help him offer his body as a living sacrifice that it may be holy and pleasing to You, in Jesus' name. 
    • "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship." (Romans 12:1)
  24. I ask, Father, that You would speak to him and give him wisdom and discernment in the way he should go, in Jesus' name.
    • "Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” (Isaiah 30:21).
  25. I ask, Father, that You would turn his eyes from worthless things and preserve his life according toYour Word, in Jesus' name. 
    • "Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to Your word." (Psalm 119:37).
  26. I ask, Father, that You would open my husband's eyes to truth and Your perspective, in Jesus' name.
    • "And Elisha prayed, 'Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.' Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes." (2 Kings 6:17a)
  27. Thank You, Father, that my husband is fearfully and wonderfully made. Help him know and believe that and know that Your works, including himself, are wonderful, in Jesus' name. 
    • "I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well." (Psalm 139:14)
  28. I ask, Father, that You help me be a true blessing to my husband, in Jesus' name. 
    • "The man who finds a wife finds a good thing; she is a blessing to him from the Lord." (Proverbs 18:22).
  29. I ask, Father, that You help my husband honor You with our wealth and the firstfruits of all we earn, in Jesus' name.
    • "Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops." (Proverbs 3:9a)
  30. Thank You, Father, that my husband is Your sheep. I ask that You help him to listen to Your voice and follow You, in Jesus' name.
    • "My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me." (John 10:27)
  31. I ask, Father, that You would help him hold to the teachings of Your Son Jesus so that he may know the truth and that the truth may set him free, in Jesus' name. 
    • "Jesus said, “'If you hold to My teaching, you are really My disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.'” (John 8:31b-32)
  32. I ask, Father, that You would help him submit to You, resist the devil, that the devil may flee, in Jesus' name. 
    • "Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." (James 4:7).
  33. I ask, Father, that we would only be attracted to each other and only our bodies satisfying the other, till death do us part, in Jesus' name. 
    • "A loving doe, a graceful deer—may her breasts satisfy you always, may you ever be intoxicated with her love."  (Proverbs 5:19).
  34. I ask, Father, that You would help my husband to always confess his sins that You would forgive him and cleanse him of all unrighteousness, in Jesus’ name, Amen. 
    • "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9)
  35. I ask, Father, that You would help him have joy in You, the God of his salvation, O Lord his strength, that You make his feet like deer's feet and make him walk on his high hills, in Jesus' name.
    • "Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, and He will make me walk on my high hills." (Habakkuk 3:18-19)

Life in God's Presence

After graduating college, I got a video production internship at my university. It was during that time that I really sought God, gave it my all, and so badly wanted to be surrounded by Him. And one day, as I went to the chapel to pray during my lunch hour, I got baptized in the Holy Spirit. My Marriage Testimony

I met my husband on a dating app. At the time, I was disgusted by dating apps. I thought it was full of men who just wanted to hook up or creepy men who couldn’t get a date in real life.
