Hope

“Hope.” This word keeps coming to me, to talk about, to write about, to remember, to do. You may have noticed, but God keeps bringing this word up, and I’m starting to realize, maybe it’s for me. Maybe He wants me to keep hope in this time, and I really felt it this past week when things didn’t go as I thought they would. Or really, even, these past couple months. And he’s been reminding my husband and me to continue to hope, despite what we see and have seen, despite our disappointments, despite the hurt and the challenges, continue to hope.

Romans 5:5 says, “Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” Hope in God won’t disappoint. We will be saved from wrath through Christ (Romans 5:9) when we push to the end and continue to hope in Him. We know that because God loved us so much that send His Son down to die for us, even while we were still sinners (Romans 5:8). He did this so that we may be reconciled to Him and have eternal life. Because I know this to be true, I can have hope that I will be saved.

I guess, in a similar way, God’s reminding me that I can have hope in my future because I know that God is faithful, He fulfills His promises, He’s not a man who should lie, and He’s working all things out for my good. So I know my future will be right and good and His Will, which is good, pleasing, and perfect.

So, God, I ask that You help me to keep the faith so that I may continue to hope in the impossible, because, with God, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26). Amen.
