Trust in God Leads to Obedience to God

In order to obey God, we have to trust Him, even when it seems crazy or stupid or foolish or hard or uncomfortable to our unknowing minds and in our own wisdom. But when we trust God, understanding that He not only knows all, including the future, but loves us and wants what’s best for us, we can obey, because we know our obedience to God will reap the best outcome out of His perfect love for all.

Imagine if Jesus Christ didn’t trust the Father? You think He would’ve gone through the torture, betrayals, ridicules, and crucifixion? If He didn’t find the Father trustworthy, He would’ve said what He wanted to say and did what He wanted to do instead of following the Father, because He wouldn’t have trusted the Father’s Way was best.

But the Father did know best. And Jesus knew that. Because of Jesus’ trust in the Father and, thus, His obedience to Him, we can all be saved from our sins. By Christ’s blood, we have been set free. Praise Him!

Is there an area in your life where you need to trust God so that you obey what He’s saying to do? Even when it doesn’t seem to makes sense or is scary, if we trust in Him, we can step in obedience anyway.

For me, I need to trust that He knows best…and that He is good…and that He is good to…me and that He’s truly looking out for my good…and that He loves me as His child. Help me do that, Father, I ask, that I may walk in bold obedience to You, unafraid, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
